Blair Callaway
Director of Bands
Blair Callaway will be the first director for the Heritage High School "Legion of Generals". Prior to Heritage High
School, Blair was the band director at Gilmer High School in Ellijay, GA, Foley High School in Foley, AL, Alma
Bryant High High School, in Irvington, AL and an associate director at Russellville High School in Russellville, AL.
Blair is a 1982 graduate from Ringgold High School. He received his Masters Degree from the University of North
Alabama in Florence and his Bachelors Degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. While at
JSU, he was a member and section leader for the "Marching Southerners", pianist for the A Capella Choir,
University Chorus, and Show Choir. Blair marched with the Guardsmen, Cavaliers, and Suncoast Sound Drum
and Bugle Corps. He is a member of the Music Educators National Conference, Georgia Music Educators
Association, National Band Association, American School Band Directors Association, International Association of
Jazz Educators, and the Epsilon Nu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He was the 2006 Foley High School
teacher of the year. Blair is a church pianist and while in Alabama played trombone in the Baldwin Pops
Community Band. He has judged and served as a clinician in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, and
Louisiana. His bands have performed in the Fiesta Bowl Parade, Blue Cross/Blue Shield National Band
Championships, the Loyola University Invitational Concert Band Festival, the Boscov's Philadelphia Thanksgiving
Parade, the Atlanta Festival of Trees Parade, the GMAC Bowl Parade , at a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Game,
at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. Blair was elected Treasurer of the American School Band Directors
Association at the 2008 Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bill Wynn
Assistant Band Director


Bill Wynn is the band director for Heritage Middle School and the assistant director at
Heritage High School. Mr. Wynn came to Heritage Middle School after four years at Tyner
Academy in Chattanooga, TN. Before moving to Chattanooga, Mr. Wynn was an active
musician in the Chicago area, performing as a bass trombonist with the Ravinia Festival
Orchestra, the Elmhurst Symphony, the DuPage Symphony, the Southwest Suburban
Symphony, and the Chicago Brass Choir and as a baritone vocalist with the Chicago
Symphony Chorus, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, His Majesty’s Clerkes, and the Ravinia
Festival Chorus. In Chicago Mr. Wynn also taught brass lessons, master classes, and
music theory at the MERIT School of Music. In addition to his responsibilities at Heritage,
Mr. Wynn is also currently the low brass instructor at Cadek Conservatory of Music
(Chattanooga, TN) and performs with the Chattanooga Symphony, Enigma Tuba Quartet,
and the Chattanooga Trombone Quartet. Current and former members of Mr. Wynn’s
brass studio have been top All-State members in six states, principal players in the
Chicago, Chattanooga, and St. Louis youth Symphonies, and members of the Governor’s
Honors Programs in Georgia, Tennessee, and Illinois. Mr. Wynn is a member of the Music
Educators National Conference, Georgia Music Educators Association, Eastern Tennessee
Band & Orchestra Association, the International Trombone Association, and the
International Association of Jazz Educators.
